WHAT IS A PPEC?
PPEC stands for Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care. We provide services for children with disabilities and complex medical conditions from birth through age 21. Our center is licensed by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration.
WHO QUALIFIES FOR THE PPEC PROGRAM?
Children who need daily nursing care, are currently home-bound, are unable to have their needs met by a typical school or daycare, and/or do not need to be in a hospital.
Children' needs may include but are not limited to the following:
*Supplemental oxygen *Ventilator dependence
*Severe asthma *Spinal cord injury
*Chronic lung disease *Cerebral palsy
*Heart disease *Muscular dystrophy *Renal disease
WHO PAYS FOR THESE SERVICES?
PPEC services are covered 100% by Medicaid once prescribed by the child's pediatrician or with a letter of medical necessity. We also accept insurance and private payments.

Happy Island PPEC is a friendly and welcoming environment for your child
Individual care is provided by qualified state licensed pediatric nurses, clinical nursing assistants, and therapists.
We open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

ABOUT US
Happy Island PPEC is licensed by AHCA. We meet all local, county and state regulations. Individual care is provided by qualified professional multi-lingual and multi-cultural pediatric nurses and aides working together with physical, occupational, speech, ABA, and respiratory therapists.
